Rosa Loves… A morning in Georgetown.

I recently spent a wonderful morning in Georgetown. My friend Jenn was in town and it was a great opportunity to go to brunch at Bistro Francais and to catch up. Our friend Rhea also joined us and it was so good to see them both. Rhea ordered a delicious almond tart for dessert and we ended up sharing it over an extra cup of coffee. I met these ladies a few years ago and it was all because of our J.Crew love. Of course, after our brunch we visited our Mothership to do some holiday shopping. Since I was in Georgetown, I decided to stop by Baked & Wired to pick up some cupcakes that I could eat while watching some TV shows at home later. The weather was beautiful, I got to see some friends, and I ate some great food. So yes, my morning in Georgetown was a fabulous one.

Rosa Loves… Cupcakes from Baked & Wired.

When I asked a friend what I should bring to a casual dinner at her place she said to just bring something sweet. Since I was spending time in Georgetown earlier in the day, the choice was clear: cupcakes from Baked & Wired.

I discovered this delightful bakery a few years back while exploring Georgetown and it has become one of my favorite places to grab a cup of coffee and of course, a cupcake. The strawberry cupcake is to die for and my friend Shari agrees with me. She’s a bit of a dessert connoisseur and still talks about this magnificent baked good two years after her visit to DC. Other fabulous flavors include the Texas Sheet Cake (always puts me in a sugar coma), Red Velvet, and Carrot Cake. The bakery even offers a gluten-free option.

And while their cupcakes are incredible, Baked & Wired also has a great variety of pies, bars, dog treats, and their amazing Hippie Crack, the most addictive granola you’ll ever taste.

NOTE: I want to thank the staff of Baked & Wired for being super nice and patient with me when I was taking these photos as the place is always packed for obvious reasons (the awesome baked goods). Thank you so much.
