Rosa Loves… The perfect lipstick for spring.
A couple of weeks ago, I decided I was ready for spring and a new lipstick seemed like a good idea. I wanted a fun color so after trying on a few shades, I chose Fireball from Pure Color Vivid Shine collection by Estee Lauder. It’s the perfect shimmery orange-coral lipstick for spring and it’s super creamy and light. What’s your favorite lipstick color for spring? Share in the comments.

Rosa Loves… High Heeled Traveler’s Lipstick Chart.
I recently attended a garden party at Jamie’s home to celebrate the launch of her magazine High Heeled Traveler. The party was fabulous and we got a chance to explore her incredibly gorgeous apartment. Jamie’s taste is impeccable and I love the combination of vintage and modern pieces she has throughout the place. While admiring her apartment, one more thing caught my eye: her lipstick chart. I love lipstick and I probably have too many and remembering what’s in my makeup drawer can be a challenge. So when I saw Jamie’s lipstick tracking system I thought it was genius. I must do this ASAP!

Rosa Loves… Incredibly Cute Mini Lipsticks.
My friend Jane knows I love lipstick and for the holidays she gave me a great gift: a set of mini lipsticks by BITE Beauty. My favorite colors were Pomegranate (red) and Shiraz (a soft plum). The set also included a pretty pink (Fig) and a light pink-brown (Musk) which are perfect for work and daytime wear. To be honest, I rarely wear nude shades on my lips and I thought that the neutral one (Retsina) would probably go unused. However, it turned out to be a great base for other lipsticks and to wear around the house. Besides the fabulous colors, these lipsticks are incredibly moisturizing. So yes, I am in love with this awesome all-natural lip product line.

Rosa Loves… Neon Pink and Cherry Red.
A few weeks ago, I decided to add a little neon pink to my wardrobe. However, I wasn’t sure about what lipstick would go best with neon pink. I tweeted Lara of the Glossarie and she came to my rescue: nude, baby pink and cherry red were her top picks. I was intrigued with the cherry red option since I love red lipstick but most of the ones I have are a bit more coral or orange. So I followed Lara’s suggestion and after trying on a couple of cherry red lipsticks, I fell in love with Cherry Lush from the Tom Ford Beauty line and I couldn’t be happier with my choice as it not only solves my neon pink dilemma, it also goes so well with any shade of pink. Thank you Lara, you are indeed the ‘beauty whisperer’.

Rosa Loves… Blogger Confessions.
I am a scientist. I work in a lab, wear a white lab coat everyday, and I love it!
I became interested in science at a very young age. I remember reading chemistry and biology textbooks with the same enthusiasm I had for fashion magazines. And believe it or not, I performed my first lab experiment in school about the same time I learned to use my grandmother’s sewing machine. True story.
Why do I love science? As a scientist I am constantly looking for answers and knowledge and that fits my personality so well. In addition, human disease has always been fascinating to me and part of my job is to contribute to the discovery of therapeutic drugs. And while I do not get to wear lots of sequins in the lab, I find my science job incredibly fulfilling.
That’s my blogger confession for today. Oh one more confession, I totally want the Periodic Table of Elements shower curtain from the Big Bang Theory.
{Just to be clear, the reference book in the photos has never been near any chemicals or biological agents; it always stays in my desk at work, the only place where I can apply lipstick as I also love to follow proper safety and decontamination procedures ;) }

Rosa Loves… Lipstick.
I love lipstick, I never leave my home without it, even if it is just to go to the farmer’s market or walk Lola. So when I was reading the Glitter Guide and saw the recent Q&A with Poppy King, aka the Lipstick Queen, I knew I had to print her lipstick guide (and go read the original article, you will love it). Funny thing was that as I was reading this guide, I realized that on Saturday when I attended the wedding of my blogger friend Summer, I was indeed wearing a pretty shade of pink lipstick. Yes!

Rosa Loves… SUPERCALIFRAGILIPSTICK.
I believe that lipstick is a woman’s best accessory. Lipstick doesn’t only make me feel pretty and feminine, lipstick also gives me the confidence to do anything. Therefore, I never leave the house without it. When I learned that the Lipstick Queen Poppy King and Kate Spade worked together to create a new line of products, I was elated. I couldn’t wait for the launch on September 4th, so I pre-ordered the SUPERCALIFRAGILIPSTICK in the bashful pink. I almost got the adventurous red, but I reminded myself that I needed a new everyday/muted shade (and I also already owned the Poppy King for J.Crew red lipstick). I received it yesterday and I love it. The lipstick is so creamy and long-lasting and the packing is so fun!
