Rosa Loves… To share some random thoughts and photos of pretty flowers.
My favorite camera lens broke on Saturday and I had a minor freak out when that happened. I love playing with my camera and I try to challenge myself a bit but lately I’ve been going through a very comfortable phase. I found a lens that I love and settings on my camera that work so I’ve been a little lazy with my photography. When my lens started misbehaving on Saturday, my first thought was ‘Crap! I won’t be able to shoot any photos until I get it back from the repair shop’. Of course that is not true since I have another lens. After dropping off the faulty lens for repairs, I came home and started to take test shots of the pretty flowers with a different lens. There was no reason to freak out. Yes, the broken lens was interfering with my routine but it’s not the end of the world. I can still play with my camera and I have to admit that I had a lot of fun rediscovering my other forgotten lens. For me, photography is supposed to be fun and minor hiccups like this one should not get in the way.
Hope you are having a fabulous week so far.

Rosa Loves… A relatively quiet weekend with Lola.
Sometimes all you need is a weekend at home and that’s what I did. I spent most of our time at home, relaxing and enjoying the company of my little Lola. Luckily, I didn’t plan much for the weekend except for running a couple of errands and a low key brunch with friends. The rest of the time was spent drinking Italian sodas, eating cookies, watching movies, and doing a little photography.
Hope you all have a good weekend.

Rosa Loves… The best anniversary gift…ever!
I received an anniversary gift from my husband this week and it was awesome. One of my favorite photos is the one I took last year at a Dior event here in DC. I still remember the moment: the stunning model stood in the middle of the room as we were all mesmerized by the beauty of the dress. Amazing moment! When my husband saw the photo on Instagram a few days later, he loved it. So he thought that a canvas of this particular photo would be the perfect anniversary gift this year and it was indeed. I just need to figure out where it will go in the apartment.
BTW, the model in the photo is the lovely Rebekah who also happens to be a fabulous food writer and a pastry chef.

Rosa Loves… A very busy Saturday.
My Saturday was indeed busy. I had been struggling with a mild cold during the week but I was feeling much better by Saturday morning so I picked a comfortable outfit for all the activities I had planned.
I met my friend Sara for a quick lunch and to catch up after running a few errands in the morning. Kata joined us later for a styling session. We had so much fun putting outfits together and I must say that Carrie Bradshaw would be incredibly jealous of Sara’s closet. On our way to the Drewdrop DC clothing swap later that afternoon, Sara and I stopped to take some outfit photos in Dupont Circle. While we waited for the event to begin, I was able to briefly chat with other lovely blogger friends including Carmen, Ashley, and Erica. After the swap, we went to the Ulysses Room launch party which was hosted by The President Wears Prada, DeNada Design, and Kelly Towles. I just fell in love with the space, the art, and the beautiful DeNada scarves.
On the metro ride home, I thought about how wonderful it was to spend time with friends and to meet great people during my Saturday activities. It was a busy day but I loved it.
On the other hand, Lola had a very relaxing day at home. I snapped this photo of her while she was looking at a sock she had stolen from my fresh laundry earlier that morning. I think she was trying to decide between playing with that sock or taking a nap. She went with the nap and it was a very long one.
Hope you all had a great weekend.
In case you are interested in the J.Crew items featured in my outfit, both sweater and necklace are still available online.

Rosa Loves… Pretty details.
I have a weakness for pretty things and the black flower detailing on this Dior dress is no exception. This stunning dress definitely makes me feel inspired to add feminine and delicate touches to my outfits this season. I am also toying with the idea of a DIY project with some lace trimming I saw at the fabric store.
Tell me, what pretty details are inspiring your outfits this season? Share in the comments, I would love to read all about it.

Rosa Loves… ‘The Outfit of the Day’ by Ashlyn, Erica and Sara.
Here’s a confession: Photography sessions involving a chihuahua with a bit of a diva attitude can get to you. Are all models like that? No, just Lola, she’s cute and she knows it. However, this summer I’ve been lucky to work with some awesome models who’ve been kind enough to let me practice my photography skills on a few occasions. As you know, some of my friends in DC and VA also happen to be personal style bloggers and they share ‘Outfit of the Day’ photos with their readers. I love meeting these ladies over for brunch, drinks, and shopping and if I have my camera, we’ll have mini photo shoots. I have enjoyed it tremendously and we always have a pretty good time while snapping the photos.
And who are the fabulous style bloggers above?
Check out their blogs and outfits. Like I said, they’re awesome and I am lucky to have them as friends and photography subjects (and no diva attitude, do you hear that Lola?).

Rosa Loves… Beautiful Roses.
Once in a while I like to treat myself to some beautiful roses especially after a long week at work or if I am sick. And of course, roses always make for wonderful photography subjects.
What’s your favorite flower?

Rosa Loves… A day off.
It’s been a hectic few days but I decided to take Sunday off. I had brunch and mimosas with lovely Ashlyn at Firefly and it was the best way to start my day off. Back at home, I spent time on my couch reading a new photography book, Science for the Curious Photographer. I have to say that back in college, physics was not my favorite subject however this book is really interesting and I’m slowing developing a love for the subject. OK, I admit it, the Big Bang Theory has also played a role in the matter. Anyhow, I spent all day drinking coffee, snapping photos, and watching the rain and it was great!
